How do you change the battery in your Honda Civic key fob?
I’ve got a Honda Civic, and the key fob stopped working. I’m about to go on a road trip, and I really need it before I leave. What’s the best way to change the battery in a Honda key fob?

can be loads of fun—especially when everything’s in working order. Luckily, it’s easy to change the battery in a Honda key fob when you follow these steps:- Start by pushing and sliding the button above your Honda logo to release the metal key.
- Put the key against the crack between each half and use it to pry open the fob.
- Hold your thumb just above the battery to stop any extra pieces from falling out.
- Gently remove the dead battery, noting the direction it was installed.
- Insert your new battery in the same position you found the old one. Use the + and - markers to guide you.
- Carefully realign each half of the fob and snap it back together.
- Reinsert your metal key and test out the fob!
