How do you change the battery in a Honda remote?

Can you tell me how to change the battery in my Honda remote? It hasn’t been working as well lately. My best guess is the battery died.

Here’s how to change the battery in a Honda
remote
:
  • Flip over your remote and look for a label on the back to see what type of battery you need.
  • Once you’ve purchased your new battery, use a jeweler’s screwdriver to remove the small screw on your remote.
  • Then, use a flathead screwdriver to separate the two halves of the remote. Be gentle as you do this to avoid accidentally damaging the key.
  • Before you remove the battery, make sure to note where the positive and negative sides go in the battery casing. Then, without touching the battery terminals, carefully remove the old battery.
  • Insert your new battery in the same position as the old one. If you’ve forgotten where the positive and negative ends go, don’t worry! There should be markings inside your remote to help.
  • When your new battery has been installed, you can snap the two halves of the remote together and test out your key! If it works, screw it back together.
Since you’re taking the time to replace the batteries in your remote yourself, why not take an extra minute to save on your car insurance, too? It’s easy when you use the
