The key fob for my Honda has stopped working and I really don’t want to spend the money to buy a new one. Is it possible to change the battery? How do you replace the battery in a Honda key?

It’s always so annoying when your key fob stops working, but don’t worry! You can change the battery in your Honda key in just a few minutes.
Start by finding out which battery you need. Most Honda key fobs use a CR2025 battery, but you should check your owner’s manual to be sure. Then do the following:
Push the button to release the metal key and slide it to slide the key out
Use a flathead screwdriver (or a coin, or the key you just removed) to pry the case open
Take a photo of the battery so you can remember its placement
Remove the dead battery
Install the new battery (refer to your photo if necessary)
Align the halves of the key fob and apply pressure until you hear them snap together.
That’s it! Now you should test your key fob.
