How do you change the battery in a BMW 328i key fob?
My car remote died, and I don’t have a backup. I need to install a new battery ASAP. How do you replace the key battery in a BMW 3 Series?

That sounds frustrating! Luckily, it’s pretty easy to change the battery in a
BMW
328i key fob. Here’s how to do it:- First, press and hold the small button located at the base of your key fob. Doing so will allow you to remove the metal key from your fob.
- Feel along the edge of the key fob until you locate a small hole. Insert a small flathead screwdriver or use your metal key to pry off the back panel of the key fob.
- Carefully remove the old battery. Make sure to note where the negative and positive terminals are situated, as you’ll need to orient your new battery the same way.
- Place your new battery in the key fob. Try not to touch the terminals as you do this since that can decrease the battery life of your key.
- Finally, replace the back panel. You should feel a click when the two halves are properly attached. Then, you can insert the metal key and test out your new key fob battery!
