How do you change lanes while driving?

I have an upcoming driving test. I feel pretty good aside from changing lanes. I can’t quite get it down. I asked my high school driver’s ed teacher for tips but he wasn’t exactly helpful. What’s the best way to change lanes while driving?

driver who’s just starting out, it will take a while to master certain skills. Just keep practicing!
To change lanes while driving, follow these steps:
  1. Put your turn signal on in the direction you wish to go.
  2. Check your rearview mirror to assess oncoming traffic.
  3. Check your side mirrors to see who’s next to you.
  4. Look in your blind spots.
  5. Turn the wheel slowly to move laterally into the next lane.
  6. Straighten out to ensure you’re within the lane lines.
  7. Flip off your turn signal.
