How do toll roads work in Florida?
I will be driving through Florida and my planned route takes me on some toll roads. How do the toll roads work, and is there anything I need to do before I drive on them?

Florida
just as normal roads do—simple hop on and hop off at your destination or exit. But before you can travel down the toll, you’ll have to make your payment. Because toll roads require you to pay for use, the fee is based on the distance of the trip and the number of axles on the vehicle (type of vehicle you’re driving). There are four methods to pay your toll:
- SunPass (the preferred and most popular method)
- Interoperable transponder
- Cash
- Toll-by-plate
