How do I use my American Express rental car insurance?
I recently got car rental insurance with American Express. How does it work? I am a little confused by the process.

Using your American Express rental car insurance is a smart way to protect yourself from the unexpected when renting. There are a few things you’ll want to consider when you’re using your policy.
First, you must reserve and pay for the rental with your eligible Amex card and decline any special coverages offered by the rental agency. Once the rental agreement is signed, you will be able to use your American Express rental insurance benefits.
With the AmEx policy, you’re covered for up to $75,000 worth of damages per claim. If you need to make a claim after an accident in your rental car, go to americanexpress.com/protection benefits or call 1-800-338-1670. Make sure to make your claim as soon as possible after the accident!
