How do I use fiberglass to fix a car floor?
I drove over this big speed bump and scratched the bottom of my car. Now, my floor pan has holes in it! What’s the best way for me to use fiberglass to fix my car floor?

Holes on the floor are a pain to deal with—but they can be fixed! Follow these steps to patch the holes in your car floor with fiberglass:
- Take out all the seats and carpets to expose the floor pan. You may need to pry the carpet from its adhesive to expose the holes in your floor pan.
- Use fine-grit sandpaper to flatten rough areas and vacuum to remove any debris or dust.
- Spray the affected area with rust-resistant paint or clear coating and allow it to dry.
- Cut fiberglass sheets two inches larger than the width of the holes in your floor.
- Use a paintbrush to apply resin around each hole, then lay a fiberglass piece around the hole on top of the resin. Allow the fiberglass to harden for about half a day.
- Apply a second layer of resin and fiberglass once the first sheet has hardened. Let this dry for 24 hours before reinserting thecarpet and floor mats.
