with cats is a chore itself, but kitty litter adds another dimension. If you want to travel with cats in a car with litter, follow these tips:- Purchase a portable litter box. These come in several styles to suit your needs, the size of your cat, and the size of your car. Secure the portable litter box in place so you don’t have an unfortunate mess you have to clean.
- Use the same kitty litter you always use. Changing this may result in your cats refusing to do their business.
- Don’t give your cat food or water for four hours before the trip. This will prevent the need to use the litter box and may also reduce motion sickness.
- Line the carrier or litter box with pee pads. This will soak up the urine and prevent the strong smell of ammonia often associated with cat pee.
