Tinting car windows
actually isn’t as hard as you might think. All it takes is some free time and a comfortable place to work, preferably in the shade.- First, you’ll want to clean the window as best you can. Make sure to get any bird droppings, dust, and debris off. Roll the window down a little to clean the glass edge as well. It’s best to use soapy water for this and prepare a generous amount because you’ll need it throughout the installation.
- Then, use a soft, lint-free rag to dry.
- Measure and cut the tint to the size of your windows. Make sure the window is rolled up and unpeel the measured pieces of tint. It’s like applying a giant sticker, with one side sticky and the other smooth. The sticky side will adhere to the inside of your window.
- Spray your windows down with soapy water and roll the tint across the surface of the wet glass.
- If there is any leftover tint on the edges, cut it to size with a razor blade.
- After you’ve applied the tint, use a squeegee to roll out bubbles or excess soap solution.
