How do I stop a car window from squeaking?
I’ve had my Subaru for a few years. I’ve never had any issues with my windows, but lately they’re really squeaky when I roll them up or down. I think it’s because I haven’t been driving it much this year. How do I stop a car window from squeaking?

To fix your squeaky window, apply lubrication to the window’s frame. A spray silicone grease will do the trick and can be purchased at your local auto shop. Once you have it, follow these steps:
- Start with the window rolled down fully and apply lubricant inside of the entire window frame.
- Wait a few minutes.
- Roll the window up and down a few times so that the track is properly coated. Once coated, the squeaking should disappear.
If you find the squeaking persists, it never hurts to take your car to the shop or dealership for a second opinion. There may be a recall or faulty component, which the dealership can often fix for free.
