How do I soundproof my car from road noise?
I was recently gifted my grandma’s old Toyota Camry and I can’t help but notice that when I drive, every little sound gets in the car. It makes listening to music during a drive a real pain, so I want to know how to soundproof your car from road noise.

Here are some simple and cost-effective soundproofing options for your car:
- Foam Insulation
- Dampening Mats
- Spray
Many different online and physical retailers sell foam insulation, so odds are that your favorite marketplace has some available. The costs vary depending on the quality and length of the foam as well as the size of your vehicle, so be wary of this before placing it under your car floor. Simply place sheets of foam under your car mats or inside your car doors. All you need to do is remove the panels of your car doors, add foam to any available space, and close the panels up.
Dampening mats are essentially the same as foam but are slimmer, allowing for simpler and less-invasive applications that don’t run the risk of sacrificing comfort. This will only apply to car floors and will not block out sound as well as foam would.
