How do I solve transmission problems after a timing belt replacement?
I just got my timing belt replaced and now I’m having even more problems. UGH! The car won’t shift gears properly. How do I solve transmission problems after a timing belt replacement?

Oh no! That sounds so frustrating. If there was prior damage to the transmission, you may need to rebuild the transmission. If this is a new problem, it could be an electrical issue.
When a timing belt is replaced, the battery gets disconnected. Sometimes this can mess with your vehicle’s computer and cause secondary problems. It might be worth disconnecting and reconnecting the positive terminal on your battery to see if it changes anything.
Otherwise, here are some other potential culprits:
Liquid got into the transmission pump
Torque convertor is locking up
Solenoid pack needs to be replaced
Loose speed timing sensor wire
The best solution is probably to bring your vehicle to a transmission shop for a diagnosis. Check the codes and get some more information.
