When your oil change light remains on after getting your car serviced, it’s of course a cause for concern. In all likelihood, the mechanic simply forgot to reset it, but doing it on your own is easy.
To reset the oil change light on a Honda Accord
, follow these steps: Turn the key to the on/accessories position (i.e., turn it to II in the ignition).
By doing so, you should not start the engine.
Next, locate the trip button, also known as the trip odometer button, which is on the right-hand side of the instrument cluster.
Press the trip button until you see oil life at the bottom of the display.
Press and hold the trip button until the oil life starts to flash. Then, release the button.
Press and hold the trip button again until the oil life reads 100%.
On some newer models of the Accord, you can also use the steering wheel to reset the oil light. Use the steering wheel buttons to select vehicle maintenance, oil life, and reset.
The next time your Honda Accord is due for an oil change, checking social media might seem like a great way to pass the time. But by comparing car insurance rates with the Jerry
