If you’re talking about the light on your instrument panel that reads oil life 45%, this is easy to reset. To reset a Honda Fit oil change light
after replacing your oil
, follow these instructions:- Turn the key to the run position (or the point just before you turn on the engine).
- Use the trip button until you see oil life at the bottom of the instrument cluster.
- Push in the trip button for 10 seconds until the oil life light starts to flash.
- Release the button.
- Push in the trip button again for about five seconds or until the oil life reads 100%.
However, note the difference between the oil light vs. oil life indicator. What you’re calling the oil change light is likely representative of the oil pressure. If this light is on, you can’t reset it.
The oil pressure light is denoted by the oil can with a drop coming out of it. If this is illuminated, it indicates a significant issue with your oil pressure, such as a leak in the system. You should take your Honda Fit to a mechanic immediately.
