Replacing your car key battery for your
Toyota
is quick, simple, and can be done at home.
Most
Toyota
keys need a CR 2032 3V battery, which you can find at an electronics store or online. Check your owner’s manual to confirm the battery type.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to replacing your key’s battery:
  • Open the key fob with a screwdriver. There’s a small slot you will be able to pop open with the screwdriver.
  • Remove the circuit board.
  • Replace the old battery with a new battery.
  • Reassemble the fob.
With that done, your key should have charge once again! If you can’t fix it yourself, head to a Toyota dealership for help.
Take care of your Toyota by investing in a great
