How can I replace my key fob battery for my Toyota Tacoma? I’ve noticed the lock and unlock functions are getting unreliable and I want to change the battery before they stop working altogether.
Locate and push the internal key release button to remove the key. The button may say “push” on it
Near the space that the key was just removed from, you’ll find a small slot. Gently wedge a small flathead screwdriver into the slot and carefully twist the tool so the fob case splits apart
Slide the same tool behind the battery to remove it. Be careful not to damage any circuitry behind the battery with the tool
Insert the new battery with the positive side facing up
Align the two halves of the key fob case and snap them back together.
