How do I remove super glue from car bodywork?
I was at my workbench in the garage using some super glue. I’m not exactly sure how it happened, but I managed to fling a bit on my car. Now I can’t get it off. What are some tricks to remove super glue from car bodywork?

Sorry to hear about your car! Super glue is especially tricky to remove if you don’t know where to start. Fortunately, you can remove the glue without damage by using a cloth, dish soap, acetone, water, and hand cream.
Once you’ve gathered your items, follow these steps to remove super glue from your car’s bodywork:
- Make sure to work in a well-ventilated area and put on a mask and gloves.
- Soak the glue in warm water using a cloth.
- Mix an even amount of dish soap and hand cream. Spread it on the glue and wipe clean. This may remove the stain.
- If it doesn’t, pour a small amount of acetone on a cloth and gently apply it to the glue.
- Allow it to set, then use the soap and hand cream mixture to remove the glue and acetone.
- Clean the area thoroughly with soap and water when the glue is completely gone.
Hopefully, this removes the glue without damaging the paint. But if you damage the paint as a result of the removal, get some touch-up paint from a local auto parts store. Then, wax over the paint once it dries to preserve it.
