How do I remove orange peel texture from my car paint?
The paint texture on the car that I just bought is rough to the touch. I'm not sure what caused it, but I've heard this is called orange peel. I'm really not a fan, and I'm worried that the paint might face integrity issues later on down the road. How do I get rid of it?

“Orange peel is a term used to describe rough paint texture, and is definitely not too aesthetically pleasing! It’s not too hard to get rid of, however—just follow these steps:
- Wet the affected area and apply a few drops of dish soap
- Use 2,000 grit sandpaper (or a slightly coarser sandpaper if necessary) to lightly scrub the area
- Wash away the debris with water
- Repeat as necessary
Orange peel can be the result of the original paint job or a
new paint job
—so if you bought a car with a new coat of paint, it might have been done poorly.Although orange peel is a natural occurrence, if your paint is damaged by vandals or a natural disaster, your comprehensive coverage should take care of it.
