How do I remove acid rain residue from my car windows?
I live in an area that's prone to occasional acid rain and it leaves a residue on my car windows. Obviously this presents a safety issue, and I don't want to keep driving with this residue if there's a chance it might get me into an accident. How can I remove this residue?

“You’re correct that lack of visibility is a safety issue—good thinking there! Luckily, getting the residue off your windows is pretty simple. To remove acid rain residue from your car windows, just follow these steps:
- Clean the window like normal with a window cleaner.
- Dust the spots with a thin layer of baking soda.
- Apply a cutting compound to steel wool and lightly scrub the area.
- Repeat as necessary.
That should take care of your windows! However, if the acid rain gets on your paint, it may require an
expensive paint job
if left unattended. Be sure to regularly wash your car to prevent any paint damage in the future. You should check with your provider to see if acid rain damage is covered by your
car insurance
