“To qualify for New Jersey’s special automotive insurance policy (SAIP), or
dollar-a-day insurance
, you need to:
  • be a low-income driver
  • qualify for Medicaid
Keep in mind that if you don’t qualify, you can always add
medical payments
to your car insurance policy to cover some of the cost of medical bills.
Although SAIP can help supplement medical costs associated with accidents, it is not a substitute for an auto insurance policy that meets the
state minimum car insurance
requirements.”
