How do I program the garage door opener in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
This is pretty annoying. I just got myself a barely-used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. One feature that I was really excited about was the built-in garage door opener. Now, I can’t figure out how to make the thing work. How do I go about setting up the opener?

Jeep Grand Cherokee
. Your Jeep and its built-in garage door opener are both equipped with Jeep’s Homelink System—which is designed to store the access code for your garage. Here’s how you can pair your Jeeps garage opener using Homelink.
- Place your old garage door opener about 3 inches away from the Homelink system in your car.
- Choose one of the Homelink buttons that you would like to pair with the door.
- For at least 10 seconds, hold down the Homeline button that you’re trying to program, and the old garage door opener’s main button at the same time.
- The world training should appear on your car’s interface. Once that message switches to saying “trained,” then you’ll be good to go!
- Use the Homelink button a few times to ensure that it is working correctly.
