You can program your
Tesla
garage door opener in just a minute—make sure you’ve already got the HomeLink system installed, however.The HomeLink Automatic Garage Opener can be installed as a retrofit in Teslas. The HomeLink allows you to control up to three garage bay doors. If you don’t already have the HomeLink installed, you can purchase it at the Tesla store and schedule a service appointment through your Tesla app.
If you’ve got HomeLink installed, follow these steps to program your Tesla garage door opener:
- Park your Tesla right in front of the desired garage door.
- Touch the HomeLink icon on your touchscreen.
- Touch ‘Create HomeLink,’ choose a mode, then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once you’re programmed, you’ll need to touch ‘Save’ to remember the new HomeLink connection.
You should test the HomeLink button to make sure it works. If it opens your garage, your Tesla garage door opener is programmed and in operation.
