Good question! To remove engine oil sludge, you’ll need to perform an engine flush.
To perform an engine flush, you’ll need to purchase chemical engine sludge remover. You can pour this into your old oil, then let your car run idle for around ten minutes.
The solvent in the sludge remover will draw much of the sludge back into the oil and off your engine’s components. Then, you’ll need to get an oil change, removing the old oil and sludge.
However, an over-the-counter sludge remover may not be enough. For serious sludge, you should head to a mechanic and have them perform the job of cleaning your engine and replacing your oil.
