How do I open the gas tank on a Mazda Protege from 2002?
My grandma sold me her 2002 Mazda Protege for $100, and I’m excited because now I have a car. However, the needle is teetering close to the E and I need to fill the tank. I’m just not sure how to open it! What am I missing?

from 2002, look for a lever on the driver’s side floorboard. This is the fuel filler door release lever.Once you locate the lever, lift it up. This should pop open the gas tank at the rear of the vehicle. Pull the gas filler door open the rest of the way, unscrew the
gas cap
with a counterclockwise turn, and you’re ready to refuel.Screw the gas cap back in place and push the door close when you’re done. It will lock in place automatically.
