How do I open the gas tank on a Ford Escape from 2020?
I have a 2020 Ford Escape that I bought just yesterday. However, I’ve hit quite the snag—I have no idea how to open the gas tank door. What do I need to do to open the gas tank on a 2020 Escape?

Unlike previous iterations of the Escape, the 2020 model doesn’t have a lever on the driver’s side floorboard, so opening the tank can get a bit confusing. If you want to open the gas tank on a Ford Escape from 2020, follow these steps:
- Turn off the engine on the Escape.
- Exit the vehicle.
- Keep the doors unlocked.
- Go to the rear driver’s side of the vehicle and locate the fuel filler door.
- Press firmly on the right-hand side of the fuel filler door.
