How do I open the gas tank on a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas?
I just bought a used 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. I’m so excited to start driving it, but I can’t seem to find the gas tank. Where is it located?

Volkswagen Atlas
, simply follow these steps:- With the car unlocked, approach the rear passenger side of your vehicle and locate the fuel door.
- Press the fuel door to release it.
- With the fuel door open, you should see the gas cap. Twist the cap off.
And voila—you can now begin refueling your vehicle! Volkswagen recommends using regular unleaded gasoline in a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas.
It has a whopping 18.6-gallon tank and comes standard with all-wheel drive. And the Atlas gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 17 city/23 highway/19 combined mpg, so it’s a good thing you now know where that gas tank is—you may be filling up fairly often!
