To open a Honda
CR-V key fob, you need a small precision screwdriver. If you have a smart fob, you’ll need to slide the knob on the back to release the internal (valet) key. Then, insert the tip of the valet key between the two black halves of the fob. Lightly twist to open the fob and reveal the battery compartment.
You will need a CR 2032 battery for this fob. Put the new battery in with the positive side facing towards you.
If you have a physical key with rectangle buttons, you will need a small precision screwdriver. Locate the tiny screw on the backside of the fob and remove it. It can be a little resistant, so press down with the screwdriver to get some traction. Then, insert the tip of the screwdriver into the little notch on the side of the fob and gently twist to open.
You will need a CR 1623 volt coin battery for this fob.
