How do I open a car seat belt buckle?
My car seat belt buckle gets stuck sometimes. How do I open the belt buckle and stop it from getting stuck?

That’s not good. There are a few different ways you can stop this from happening in the future.
First, you should check the metal seat belt tongue for imperfections. If it’s bent or has other deformities, the belt buckle may not engage properly. You may need to replace the entire buckle if it is bent too much.
Another way to prevent the seat belt from becoming stuck is to clean out the buckle mechanism. Flat items like coins, crumbs, or paper clips may fall into the belt buckle and cause this issue. Use a slim, flat item like a butter knife to clean out any debris that could cause the jam.
The buckle may also get stuck because it needs lubrication. This is where WD-40 will come in handy. You can use the thin red straw that comes attached to the WD-40 bottle to spray a small amount of lubricant to the moving parts inside the buckle. Insert the tongue of the belt into the mechanism and release it a few times to spread the lubricant around.
