This is not a stupid question. Vehicle manufacturers need to make sure your hood doesn’t fly open while you’re driving, so they have to put in a few fail-safes that can make it difficult to pop yours open. To open a Cadillac hood, you’ll need to find the release handle.
Here’s what to do:
Pull the hood release handle. The hood release handle is located inside the car on the driver’s side. You can find it by looking under the left side of the vehicle’s instrument panel.
Locate the hood release lever. Move to the front of your Caddy and look under the center front of the hood for the hood release lever.
Press the hood release lever to the side and lift the hood at the same time. You should be able to lift the hood and prop it open while you work.
