Great question! The Jeep Renegade is not officially built to allow owners to remove the doors.
The Wrangler, Gladiator, and Bronco are the three most common Jeep models that are intended for door removal.
Now, it is technically possible to remove your Jeep Renegade’s doors. However, you may not be street legal afterward. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you may damage your Jeep—or have a stuck car door
. Proceed with caution! Here are the tools you will need: a flathead screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a plastic pry bar, a 5mm hex head socket, and a Torx T20 star bit screwdriver.
Now follow these steps to remove your doors:
Lift out window control panel and remove wiring clip and cable clusters
Lift off the door panel - be careful with the door speaker!
Release additional wiring
Get a tube door if you want it to look intentional. Renegades without doors can look a bit…odd. Plus, tube doors increase safety.
Before you hit the road, make sure to check your state’s guidelines about mirrors for door-less Jeeps. Some states require only one mirror and others require two.
