How do I lower my State Farm car insurance?
I’ve been with State Farm for almost 10 years, and I love their business and customer service. But when I received my renewal notice for my car insurance, my policy went up by $350! What is the best way for me to lower my State Farm car insurance?

State Farm
is one of the top-rated insurance companies in the United States, and that reputation is well earned. But policyholders can sometimes get caught off guard by premium spikes or sudden rate increases. Luckily, State Farm offers discounts for customers to lower their rates.Call your agent and ask if you’re eligible for any of these discounts:
- Accident-free discount
- Multi-car discount
- Multi-line or bundling discounts
- Good driver discount
The State Farm Steer Clear Program has also become popular among young drivers. This app tracks your driving and takes you through some basic training. A certificate will be sent to your agent once you complete the training, which will qualify you for a discount.
Alternatively, you could drop excess coverage or raise your deductible. Ideally, you want as much insurance as you can afford, but dropping extra coverage can lower your premium significantly. Raising your deductible can have a similar impact. While you’ll need to pay more out of pocket after an accident, your rate will drop.
