To jump-start or push start a stick shift vehicle:
Make sure your battery is the source of the problem
Clear a path for at least 300 feet in front of the vehicle
Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position
Put the car in second gear
Release the parking brake
Push down on the brake pedal and the clutch at the same time
Release the brake as someone pushes the car
Drop the clutch as soon as you reach about 5 mph
