How do I jump a BMW?

I woke up this morning and my BMW’s battery was completely dead! It’s been getting colder lately, but I didn’t think it was enough to kill the battery entirely. I still need to use my car this week, but I don’t know what to do. How can I jump a BMW?

I’m so sorry to hear about your dead battery! However, I’m happy to say that
to jump a BMW
, all you need is a working car.
Here’s what to do:
  • Park both cars next to each other in neutral. The jumper cable from one should be able to easily reach the other vehicle’s battery.
  • Open the hood. Connect the first end of the red positive cable to the positive terminal on the working battery, then do the same for the other end of the dead battery’s cable. After this, connect the black negative cable to the negative terminal, and attach the other end to a metal point away from the dead battery.
  • Start the moving car. After about a minute, try starting your car. Leave it on for a few minutes after it starts running to properly charge the battery.
  • Remove the cables in the reverse order that you attached them. After this, you should drive around or leave the engine running for at least 30 minutes to get a good amount of charge.
If your engine still doesn’t start after this, you may have a bigger problem on your hands, and you may need the help of a mechanic. Mechanics and auto body shops can be expensive, so if you want to save some money, you might want to look at different ways to save on car expenses.
