How do I install a trailer hitch on a Honda Pilot?
Can I install a trailer hitch to a Honda Pilot? My partner and I plan to take our kids mountain biking this weekend. I bought a Draw-Tite trailer hitch to attach a bike rack, but I don’t know how to install it.

Biking together sounds like a great way to bond as a family! To install a trailer hitch on a Honda Pilot, follow these steps:
- Step 1: At the rear of the vehicle, look under the car for the mounting points on thecar frame. If you notice the mounting points are rusty or corroded, use penetrating oil for cars and a wire brush to clean them.
- Step 2: Once the mounting points are clean, with the help of another person, take the hitch and align the elongated holes on the hitch frame to the mounting points under the vehicle. Be careful when you lift the trailer hitch as it is heavy.
- Step 3: Supplied with your hitch are washers and new bolts. Put the provided washers on the new bolts and start threading the center bolts into the holes on both sides of the hitch frame. Note that the teeth of the washers should face against the hitch, facing out. Put the rest of the washers and bolts on the remaining holes on both sides. Tighten each bolt using a ratchet and socket.
- Step 4: Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts one more time.
