My daughter just turned 16 and I want to get her a learning driving permit, but I’m not sure how to do that. Where do I need to go? We just moved to Indiana so I’m still not super familiar with the state laws.
in Indiana, you’ll need to visit your local DMV branch and bring documents proving the following information:
Identity
Social Security number
Lawful status (i.e. citizenship)
Indiana residency (two unique documents)
Your daughter will also have to pass a knowledge exam and a vision screening in order to get her driving permit. It can help to enroll your daughter in a Driver’s Ed course to teach her the information that she needs to know, but you can also help her study for the knowledge test yourself if you prefer.
Remember that you’ll also need to add your daughter to your car insurance! To make sure you get the best rates, check out the
