“It should be very easy to recoup the money that was taken from your account by the renters insurance company.
You will need to provide a copy of the declarations page for your current home insurance policy, which details when your home coverage started. Once your home insurance took effect, you did not need your renters insurance coverage, so the renters insurance company will be able to refund the money that was taken for the days when you were actually covered by your new home insurance policy.
