How do I get a dismissed bankruptcy off of my credit report?
I went through bankruptcy a few years ago, but it’s since been dismissed. The only problem is that it keeps showing up on my credit report anyway! How do I fix this?
removed from your credit report in a couple of different ways. First, try disputing the item with all three major credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. The dispute process varies, so contact each bureau to learn how to do this.
Alternatively, you can ask the court to remove the bankruptcy from your record. To do this, you’ll need to provide information such as:
Your name, your business name (if applicable), and the address associated with the bankruptcy
Any court documents that show evidence that the case was dismissed
The date that the bankruptcy was dismissed
If neither of these approaches is successful, the dismissed bankruptcy will come off of your record in 10 years.
