How do I find my towed car in Harris County?
I’m visiting my cousin in Houston right now. I think I may have parked illegally because when I came out this morning my car was gone. How do I find my towed car in Harris County?

I’m sorry to hear that your car has been towed. Luckily, there are two simple ways you can find your car in Harris County. If either of these methods doesn’t work initially, wait a couple of hours and try again.
- Call or visit the Houston Police department or the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
- Go online to the Find My Towed Car Houston website.
Whichever route you choose, you will need to provide the following information:
- Your vehicle identification number (VIN)
- The year, make, and model of your car
- The location it was towed from
- The date it was towed
Once you locate your vehicle, you can expect to pay around $250 in fines to get your car back from the impound lot. In some cases, you may also need to provide
proof of insurance
.If you can’t locate your car this way, you’ll want to reach out to the police again, as your car may have been stolen.
