How do I find my previous car insurance provider?
I've changed insurance companies a few times in the past two years. I'm planning to switch again, but the new company wants my all my previous car insurance information. Since I've switched frequently, I can't remember one of my providers. How would I find my previous insurance company?

- Check your phone. Many car insurance companies now offer mobile apps, so you may have downloaded an app to check your policy.
- Check your email. Most providers prefer electronic communication, so you likely received policy information by email.
If you check your email, some terms to search include:
- Policy number
- Car insurance
- Insurance policy
- Policy documents
Ideally, this should turn up all previous providers you’ve had, and hopefully, solve your issue.
If this doesn’t work, check old paper documents, look at your bank or credit card statement, or check with the DMV.
