“The easiest way to clean car rims is to rinse them off, then spray or rub on a specialized wheel-cleaning product.
To clean rims effectively, you should:
  • Make sure the rims are cool to the touch.
  • Hose them down.
  • Use a specialized exterior car cleaner and scrub the rims with a rag, sponge, or soft-bristle wheel brush.
  • Rinse them off.
  • Dry them and add a rim protectant or wax to add a bit of extra luster.
If your car rims get really dirty really fast,
your brakes
could be the culprit. It doesn’t mean your brakes are necessarily bad—modern brake pads and rotors just tend to shed more brake dust. Ceramic or hybrid brake pads kick up less brake dust, so consider switching if you’re committed to rocking sparkling rims.
