How do I choose a driving school?

My teenager is finally growing up, and she’s ready to start getting behind the wheel! As a parent, I want the very best when it comes to the education she’ll be receiving at driving school. What are some good qualities to look for in evaluating a potential driving school?

You’re a great parent—only the best for your daughter! Choosing a good driving school can be challenging, but here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Hands-on time: Look for a school where students spend a significant amount of time behind the wheel. You can only learn so much in the classroom.
  • Student-to-teacher ratio: How many students will be in the given cohort of young drivers, and how many teachers will be instructing them? Smaller class sizes traditionally create a better learning environment.
  • Practice vehicles: Figure out what types of vehicles the student drivers will be practicing with. This will give you peace of mind when it comes to safety.
Always do your research when it comes to the curriculum and quality of driving schools. This will set up you or your loved ones for a future of safe driving.
