Open the fob: After taking the key out, you should see a slot. Stick a flat object, or another small tool, into the slot to open the fob cover.
Take out the green circuit board: You should see a green circuit board when you open the fob. Gently lift it up to remove and set it aside.
Put the new battery in: Write down the type of battery currently in the fob, so you know what kind of battery to use next time. Typically, Toyota car keys will use a CR 2032 battery, which you can purchase at an electronic store or online.
Reassemble the key: Put everything back in reverse order.
Now you know how to replace the battery for next time!
