How do I avoid confusing the gas and brake pedals?
I’m generally a good driver, but there are certain situations when I can’t seem to keep the gas and brake pedals straight. What can I do so I don’t hit one when I mean to hit the other?

Wear sensible shoes: If you plan to wear heavy boots, high heels, or any other footwear that might make it difficult to use the pedals, bring an extra pair of lightweight shoes with flat soles to slip into while you’re in the driver’s seat.
