How do I add my driver’s license on my résumé?
I recently got my CDL, and I’m applying for jobs at different trucking companies. This is a bit of a career switch for me, so I’m not sure how to structure my résumé. Where do I put my driver’s license information on my résumé?

Congratulations on your achievement! The best place to put your driver’s license depends on what job you’re looking at. For you, as a commercial truck driver, it would have to be near the top of the resume so a hiring manager could see it. An ideal spot is under your name on your resume along with your contact information.
Making sure your CDL is on your resume is definitely important when you’re applying for commercial truck-driving jobs, but not many people know it can help to have your license information on your resume for other types of jobs as well. This is true even with office jobs, where you may have to
drive a company car
.For all other jobs, it’s best to put your driver’s license in the section where you list skills and abilities. It’s good for your hiring managers to know that you can drive a car, but unless it’s part of the job description, it’s not vital.
