How can you make a car last 500,000 miles?

I’m taking over my Grandpa’s old car and, suffice it to say, there’s a lot of miles on it. I want it to last as long as possible, and max out the mileage as much as I can. How do I make it last up to, say, 500,000 miles?

That’s a great question! The truth is, there’s no one secret, but the following tips can help your car last for years to come:
  • Study the owner’s manual and adhere to the exact
    maintenance schedule
  • Keep the car’s interior and exterior clean
  • Regularly check the engine to make sure it’s running to the best it can
  • Use high-quality gasoline and never, ever drive on empty
  • Drive as carefully as you can
