I’m getting car insurance on my own for the first time and I’m paranoid that it’s going to be more than I can afford because of some speeding tickets I got in my early 20s. I’ve heard tickets can be expunged from your record after a few years, but I have no idea how it actually works. How do you expunge your driving record in California?

It can be uncomfortable when past traffic infractions creep up on you. You can expunge your driving record in California by filling out a Request Form for Expungement and submitting it to the MVA’s Administrative Adjudication Division.
It’s important to know that your driving record may be expunged without you having to do anything if you haven’t received any tickets in the last three years and your license hasn’t been
