How can you align your car with string? I read that it's possible, but I can't find instructions anywhere.

Aligning a car requires specialized tools and confidence working on cars. If you feel up for the task, you can try aligning you car with string in a straightforward process.
Before you begin, make sure that your frame is
undamaged
so that you can get an accurate measurement. If your frame isn’t straight, you won’t be able to properly align your car.Straighten your front tires so all four tires are pointing in the same direction. Tie string to two jack stands by the front and back right tires at frame height, making sure that both jackstands (and the string) are equidistant from the car.
You will take three measurements on each tire: the distance from the tire’s center cap to the string and the distance from the bulge of the tire to the string on both sides of the center cap. If there is a difference between the measurements of the two bulges on one tire, that tire needs to be realigned.
