How can I put insurance on my friend's car?

How can I get insurance on my friend's car? She is letting me borrow it for the first few weeks that I move into town. I don't have a car and I am not sure if I will need one. I think I can get by on public transportation pretty well here.

“Taking advantage of public transportation will help save the planet and keep more money in your pocketbook! Since you will be borrowing a car in the meantime, have your friend check with their current
car insurance
company. You may already be covered to drive their vehicle.
Most insurance companies have a permissive use clause.
Permissive use
means that as long as the owner of the car allows you to use the vehicle, you are considered a covered driver.
Another good option would be to purchase a
named non-owner policy
, also known as an NNO. An NNO policy is ideal for people who don’t own a car but often tend to rent or borrow cars. It is liability coverage that will follow you, the driver.
If you decide to purchase your own coverage, download the
Jerry
app. Jerry works with over 50 insurance providers and can deliver free quotes right to your phone. The best part? Jerry partners with companies that can offer great NNO policies!
Good luck with your move!”
