How can I make sure that USAA knows that I am not at fault for an accident?
What do you do if fault wrongly attributed in a car accident? My friend was in an accident the other day that should have been deemed not at-fault, but it wasn't. Now I am wondering how I can make sure this doesn't happen to me. I have a different carrier, USAA.

“I am so sorry to hear that happened to your friend. Have them contact a supervisor in the claims department and file a claims dispute.
The
claim
will go through another review process, and hopefully, they will have a better outcome this time. Most of their claims are now handled through their mobile app and this gives you much more control to ensure the claim is handled accurately.
- make sure you and everyone involved is ok
- take as many pictures as you can
- exchange contact and insurance information from the other driver
- get down the name and phone numbers of any witnesses
This information should be part of the police report as well.
Once you are home safe and sound, report the accident to your insurance carrier and upload the pictures in the USAA app.”
